Last Saturday I spent my day at work. And you know what, it wasn't as bad as it sounds. Amy, a colleague who is also a recent Clemson GC graduate, and I were asked to speak at Print America. Print America is a group that meets to discuss a certain aspect of the printing world at a different host location each year. This year HBP was the sponsor and the men attending (yes, this industry is prodominently men if you have not noticed yet) spent a beautiful weekend in Sheperdstown, WV discussing IT solutions, problems and new ideas as well as doing a critique of the HBP plant.
On Saturday Amy and I spoke about our education at Clemson, why we chose HBP, why we chose sales and our progress so far. It was interesting to see how engaged everyone was and how interested all the attendees were in finding out how they could hire young professionals to work for their company. I am proud of my education and it was exciting to share my sucesses with everyone. I think most in attendence were impressed with our knowledge base and I think after speaking with us many will look more indepth into getting interns or hiring young professionals right out of college.
And what is a conference without the nighttime activities? I have included a picture of Amy and I enjoying ourselves at the Charlestown Races where we all enjoyed some adult beverages and Amy and I were able to speak one on one with anyone who had more indepth questions. All in all it wasn't such a terrible way to spend a Saturday!
